Dr. Maria Montessori

"Our concern for the child should not be limited to our desire to teach him or her concepts, but rather to ensure that this inner light notably called intelligence is enlivened forever."

« Notre souci envers l'enfant ne doit pas se limiter à notre désir de lui faire apprendre des notions mais plutôt à veiller à ce que cette lumière intérieure notamment appelée l'intelligence soit vivifiée à jamais. »

Our Curriculum

CASA Class (3 to 6 years old)

Practical Life activities are a fundamental part of the Montessori method, designed to help children develop essential life skills and foster independence such as Taking Care of Oneself, Taking Care of the Environment, Grace and Courtesy and Movement Control.

These practical life activities serve as a foundation for a child's holistic development. Through hands-on experiences, children learn to care for themselves, their environment, and interact harmoniously with others, setting the stage for future learning and independence.

Language is a fundamental tool for communication and the development of essential skills in students. Focusing on oral language, listening, evaluation, feedback skills, grammar and early literacy, as well as incorporating activities such as tracing, writing and reading while integrating technology, can contribute significantly to their overall language proficiency.

Full immersion in the English and French languages, students will begin to have basic conversations in the French language after the first three months of school. Mandarin will be introduced in the 2026 school year.

A well-balanced and comprehensive educational approach will cover a variety of topics related to the environment and beyond. Integrating subjects such as geography, botany, zoology, science, history, music and art can enable students to gain a holistic understanding of the world around them. Additionally, this approach fosters interdisciplinary learning, enabling students to see the interconnectedness of different fields of knowledge.

Culture

Culture

Students will explore the perception of differences such as colors, shapes, textures, weights and dimensions, helping them to develop their five senses: sight, hearing, touch, taste and smell. The sensory can foster fields such as psychology, design, education and technology, where attention is focused on the sensory aspects of perception and experience.

A complete introduction to mathematics will be prepared, starting with a hands-on approach and progressing to more abstract concepts: from introduction to numbers, counting quantities, decimal system to basic operations (addition, multiplication, subtraction, division). As students become comfortable with these foundational concepts, they are better equipped to tackle more advanced topics in mathematics in the future.

Cooking can indeed be a multi-faceted learning experience, integrating basic mathematical concepts (through recipes) and language skills. Preparing croissants, muffins, pancakes, pizzas, cakes, pies, pumpkin seeds or fruit kebab is a fantastic and engaging way to integrate learning into a fun activity. What's more, everyone can enjoy a delicious homemade pizza at the end!

Integrating a vegetable garden offers a “Nature” dimension, providing students with practical skills and a deeper connection to the natural world. It also enhances students' understanding of the plant life cycles they are growing as well as of where their food comes from. Students are so proud to harvest the vegetables they grew and so curious to taste them!
